LAIYA,BATANGAS: October Beach-ing!

a mini break with my college friends somewhere in batangas: that was the original plan. somehow, unimaginably, it pushed through at kahit me mga konting "oopss moments"

so on sunday, oct 19 (which was also margas post bday), nagkita2 sa mcdo-araneta. as usual late na naman si donya sheena (walang kupas!).on which we blame her for the next "little misfortunes"  we had that day.hehe ETD was 7:00am para maabutan pa sana ang check in time but since sheena was late,we left manila at 8:00am,arriving at Lipa, Batangas a little late before lunch. We had no idea what we were into. We dropped by at Robinsons Lipa for some chichira and booze (thanks marga!). At heto na ang unang "biyahe" namin.

Think about this: php58 for a jeepney ride. imagine how long that trip was. We were fighting over wether the trip was either long or the fare was just pricey. Manong driver confirmed that the trip was indeed long. And he added that another ride is needed to go to laiya, which he stressed was another long trip too. haayyy...sheena kasi

So..bus ride (php136) 2 hours + lipa-san juan (php58) 45 minutes + san juan-laiya (php46) 45 minutes = php 240 (4-5 hours???huwaat!

After too many "are we there yet?" from chepots and realizing that we really are near the resort after running out of paved lane, finally, we arrive!

We went to Taramindu unannounced. Marga's sort-of-game plan was to browse the whole laiya beach in case we didn't find any resort appealing. Glad we already have Taramindu in mind saving ourselves from marga's tiresome plan.

Having approximately ten rooms only, Taramindu is a welcoming place. Ideal to those who simply want to relax and unwind.

Immediately, we got our room. Hunger made us move fast, enough that we immediately handed our share for the room and food, unpacked, change into a more comfortable clothing and headed downstairs to feed our hungry mouths. Our room costs php 4000.They charge per room basis not per head so the six of us managed to squeeze ourselves into two queen size beds. Food costs php600/head which is consumable.

The wait was worth it. For lunch, we ordered pusit, sinigang, lechon kawali, pinakbet. The food was incredible or maybe because we were simply dead hungry. Nonetheless, it was all good. Plates were clean in a matter of seconds.

Having been fed, we headed to the beach.

The whole stretch of Laiya was breathtaking. The sand was pebbly and walking on it became more of a foot scrub for us. We decided that walking was a bad idea after realizing that we can no more go on with our feet being de-scaled to death. Swimming. Basking under the sun. Volleyball. The whole afternoon, that's all we did.

 Then sunset came...

We were upset the sun set behind us. But we manage to take some equally breathtaking sunset photos and of course, silhouettes

Dinner time!
We had gambas, taramindu fried chicken and nilagang baka for dinner. Another satisfying meal.
We all agreed. Taramindu's food was indeed sumptuous.

Night came in.
Taramindu lights up at night. The resort use dim lights to achieve a relaxing atmosphere even at night. You could barely see a fluorescent light. Ceiling lightings were replaced by wall lights. Tinay said it reminded her of ust during christmas season.

Of course, an outing will never be complete without an inuman session. hehe ilabas ang alak!!
So, the kwentuhan began.

Ooops.This one's off limits.

We went to bed after sheena started complaining of palpitation, after marga was using the word "parang"  abusively and after chepots literally slept on her last tagay! tsk, tsk, hindi talaga mga tomadera. brainy bunch nga. hahaha

The rest of the evening went well.
Unfortunately, I was voted to share the bed with the couple (che&mark). thank goodness for vodka!!

6:00am. Sunrise. I went out to check Laiya. The beach was so peaceful. I decided to take a morning walk. Wherever my feet leads me to..

I happen to see some kids in uniform coming from the other side of the beach. So i figure to go and see where they came from. I found out that there's another whole stretch of beach beyond the rock formations. Just as i thought that this was the "other side" of the beach.

Chepots came looking for me for breakfast. The walk back was a bit hotter since the sun was already up by that time, and not to mention, i was still in my pajamas.

Almuchow!
I had tapsilog for breakfast.

Kapeng barako was the highlight of our meal. yum..yum
walang sinabi starbucks.hehe

The rest of the afternoon was spent on snorkeling, more swimming and more basking. Chepots did more of picture taking.more picture taking.more picture taking. When the photos were finally in the computer, it  totaled of  320! 230 of these were chepots'. alone. What a camera whore....hehe

We had lunch before leaving.
I can't imagine this month long preparation trip has finally ended.
Will there be another "bonding" moments like this? Definitely!... or maybe....
